This is an excellent pose for healing and relaxation. Grab a mat, kneel on it, your bottom should be resting on your heels. Lean forward and make sure that your legs support your chest. Place your forehead on the mat. Place your arms by the sides, with the palms facing up. Take a break and make sure to breathe deeply.
This movement symbolizes surrender and release. You can let go of the pain and the past and accept the present as it is. This is a seated posture. Lean forward and reach your toes.
Come back into a plank pose, then lower down to your forearms, making sure they are parallel to one another and shoulder width apart. Slowly begin to step your feet in toward your face, continuing like you would to downward dog. Lengthen your tailbone away from your pelvis and continue to press your forearms actively into the ground.
This pose is a flowing movement, which allows you to gently stretch your spine, hips and heart. You can perform it on hands and knees, at times rounding and flexing the spine.
