Keto Bacon & Egg Fat Bombs

I absolutely love these savory keto fat bombs. There is also a sweet version of this recipe but I think this savory version is alot better as they dont set off any cravings.

What is Keto

If you dont know what keto is its a diet that many people know as a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. It’s referred to as many different names – ketogenic diet, low carb diet, low carb high fat (LCHF), etc. When you eat something high in carbs, your body will produce glucose and insulin.

Serves 6 servings

  • 2 large eggs, free-range or organic
  • ¼ cup butter softened at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt or more to taste
  • 4 large slices bacon (120 g / 4.2 oz)

When looking for ingredients, try to get them in their most natural form (organic, without unnecessary additives).

Preheat the oven 375 F. Place a baking paper into a baking tray. Lay the bacon onto the paper( make sure there is space in between the bacon. Put the tray into the oven for about 10 -15 minutes or until its golden brown. The time really depends on how thick the bacon is. When the bacon is finished place it aside so it can cool.

Boil the eggs and cut the butter into small piece add it to the peeled and quartered eggs. Mash the eggs with a fork.

Mix in the Mayonnaise, season with pepper and salt. Pour the bacon grease into this mixture and mix well. Place this mixture into the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.

Crumble the bacon into small pieces and prepare for “breading.” Remove the egg mixture from the fridge and start creating 6 balls. You can use a spoon or an ice-cream scooper. Roll each ball in the bacon crumbles and place on a tray that will fit in the fridge.
